Bilty App — Make an LR (Lorry Receipt) on Your Phone

A bilty, also called an LR, lorry receipt or consignment note, is the document a transporter issues when goods are loaded on a truck. It records who is sending the goods, who will receive them, what is being carried, and who pays the freight. Most transport offices still write it in a carbon-copy bilty book.

Trucksarthi makes the same bilty on your phone or computer, numbers it for you, and turns it into a PDF you can send on WhatsApp in a few seconds. The bilty stays linked to its trip, so the freight, the invoice and the client ledger all come from one entry instead of being written three times.

What goes on a Trucksarthi bilty

  • Consignor and consignee: name, contact person, phone, address, GSTIN and PAN.
  • Shipment: from and to, vehicle number, driver name and phone, shipment date.
  • The goods invoice number and value, and the e-way bill number for the load.
  • Goods rows: description, quantity and unit, actual weight, rate and amount.
  • Charges: freight, loading, unloading and other charges, with advance and balance worked out.
  • Who pays: To Pay, Paid or To Be Billed (TBB), and whether the consignor or consignee pays the freight and the GST.
  • GST at 0%, 5% or 18%, as CGST and SGST or as IGST.
  • Goods insurance details (insurer, policy number, cover amount) and your signature.

LR numbers without duplicates

Bilty numbers are issued by the Trucksarthi server, not by the phone. When your office staff make bilties on the computer while you make one on your phone, every bilty still gets its own number in sequence. A paper book cannot promise that once two people are writing in two books.

Fill a party once, reuse it forever

Consignors and consignees you use are saved as parties. Next time, pick the party and its address, GSTIN and phone fill in by themselves. You can also look a business up by its GSTIN to fill its registered name and address, which avoids spelling mistakes on documents your client will check.

Share, print and keep a record

A finished bilty becomes a clean A4 PDF with your business details. Send it on WhatsApp to the driver, the consignor and the consignee, or print it from the desktop dashboard for the truck file. A bilty can be saved as a draft and finished later, and every bilty stays in the record with its trip.

What it does not do

Trucksarthi records the e-way bill number on the bilty, but it does not generate the e-way bill itself; that is still done on the government e-way bill portal. It also does not file GST returns.

Bilty app questions

What is the difference between a bilty and an LR?

None in practice. Bilty, LR (lorry receipt), GR (goods receipt) and consignment note are names for the same document: the receipt a transporter gives when goods are loaded, listing the consignor, consignee, goods, weight, freight and vehicle.

What do To Pay, Paid and TBB mean on a bilty?

To Pay means the consignee pays the freight when the goods are delivered. Paid means the consignor has already paid it at booking. To Be Billed (TBB) means neither pays on the spot; the freight is billed to the party later. Trucksarthi lets you pick one of the three on every bilty.

Can I make a bilty without internet?

You need a connection when you create the bilty, because its number is issued by the server so that two people can never get the same number. Viewing and sharing a bilty you already made works from the saved copy.

Can my office staff make bilties on a computer?

Yes. The desktop dashboard at app.trucksarthi.in shows the same bilties as the phone app, signs in by scanning a QR code from your phone, and prints bilties directly.
